Loved the mix of heritage & modern. Guided platypus tour was a fantastic touch. Quite basic rooms but very clean & quiet, exactly what we needed. Staff excellent . The included breakfast was a bonus. Would absolutely stay here again. Dinner was a winner also.

Lovely old-world hotel. Cafe / nightly Restaurant on ground floor. Public bar too. Communal lounge area with tv / dvd player. Self-Serve breakfast (cereal, toast, tea, coffee, juice) in the communal lounge area for hotel guests. Located in the centre of town.

The location was excellent : very central. A unique historical building; clean and simple accommodation. Everything we needed was supplied, and the managers were very responsive and helpful. We didn't eat there, so can't comment on the food. Overall a very good, & economical experience.

The Empire Hotel was a pleasant stop over on our way to explore Cradle Mountain. The room was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast included a very welcome addition.

Our queen deluxe room was great. Comfy bed and huge ensuite. Dinner and the pub was beautiful and Mark the publican was very helpful. Breakfast also provided in the morning.

This was my third stay at The Empire. Each time, I've had a different room, and all have exceeded my expectations. It's so lovely to be greeted warmly, and personally taken to your room, rather than simply being told the room no, which is so often the case at other hotels I had booked the single, budget room this time, as I was travelling solo. Yes, it was a very small room, but it was faultless as far as cleanliness and comfort went. The chocolate on the bed was a delightful extra, and the private bathroom next door was very tasteful and well equipped with all necessities. Breakfast was included in my booking, and I enjoyed meeting other travellers as I enjoyed my delicious breakfast in the elegant guest lounge/dining room. All in all, I had a wonderful stay, which was excellent value for the money I spent. I'll be back...again!!
